Individual Member Application Form and Dues Schedule

 

Individual Membership is open to former ACP editors as well as freelance writers, journalists, artists, designers, and photographers.  An Individual Member:
  • Receives all ACP publications, e-bulletins, press cards, and any other required journalistic accreditation.  
  • Is eligible to compete in any "freelancer" categories in the annual ACP Awards Competition. 
  • Is invited to share information and work samples in our online "Find a Freelancer" directory, helping to link freelancers to ACP publications needing their services. 
To apply for Individual Membership, please do the following:
  • E-mail or print out a completed Individual Member Application Form below;
  • Determine you membership fee from the Individual Annual Dues Schedule below and make you check payable to Associated Church Press; and
  • (E)mail the completed form and send the check to:

Membership Agreement:
__ Applicant agrees to send three (3) copies of a recent issue of the publication.
__ Applicant agrees to send payment for a full year’s membership dues. (See dues schedule, next page.)
__ Applicant agrees to add the ACP office to its complimentary-copy mailing list, upon approval of membership.

PRESS CARDS: ACP provides up to five photo-ID press cards at no extra charge per organization. Additional cards and replacement cards are $6 per card. E-mail head-and-shoulders photos with clearly identified names as you would have them printed on each card, to ContactACP@aol.com.

Associated Church Press Annual Dues Schedule
 
ALL DUES MUST BE PAID IN FULL to enter the annual ACP "Best of the Christian Press" Awards competition in early January. Additionally, renewing Publication Members that make use of the U.S. Postal Service are asked to pay a modest contribution to fund ACP's extensive Postal Advocacy activities that are undertaken on their behalf. Member annual dues are as follows:

* "Publication" is defined broadly to cover any journal, magazine, newspaper or news service. Newsletters pay a discounted membership, as shown.
 
2. Web-site-only memberships: $139.  Print publications whose Web sites simply mirror the content of the printed product needn't apply for separate Web site membership. Web sites that contain at least 60 percent original material and are produced by a separate staff are considered a separate "publication" and must have their own ACP membership to partake of typical member benefits.
 
3. Blogs: $69. (Generally maintained by one person)
 
4. Individuals: $30 for former ACP editors; $25 for students; $40 all others (e.g., working freelancers who submit their material to more than one publication.)
 
5. Affiliate Membership: $140. (Non-publishing businesses or individuals whose work is related to religious communication.)
 
Membership Based on Budget:  Membership dues may also by calculated on the basis of $3.13 per thousand of gross annual budget with a minimum dues payment of $139 for publications and Web sites and $70 for newsletters and blogs.
