Become an ACP Member


The Associated Church Press is dedicated to expanding the reach and influence of faith-based journalism. It strives to connect members to one another and larger audiences by collaborating with innovative and creative communicators, providing professional development opportunities to expand your skills, and awarding excellence in the annual independently judged “Best of the Christian Press” competition.


Members are invited to our annual conference where you will network with publishers, editors and other journalists at today’s leading Christian publications, lead or attend workshops, and advance the role religious communications has in contemporary media.

Membership Categories and Annual Dues 


Organization Memberships: 
Open to publications that subscribe to the ACP’s purpose, that are recognized by churches or denominations as church publications, or that serve church constituents. Digital only publications, websites, newsletters and news services are now included as publications. Please count your Full Time Equivalent staff including editorial, design, technical, marketing, distribution, publishing and others who contribute to the production of your publication including employees and contractors.

  • Attend Connecting Christian Media monthly Zoom call
  • ACP Update. Weekly news update on Tuesday. Members want to hear from you!
  • Member Directory. Access to our online member directory that includes contact details for all member staff and independent journalists, so you can reach out to one another that is located behind a paywall.
  • Press Passes. Press passes are issued to the staff of member organizations.
  • Preferred Partner/Vendor List. Access to our online preferred partner/vendor list that has been vetted by ACP Board members.
  • The ACP Podcast. Be a guest on the new ACP Podcast to share your Organization’s knowledge on an educational piece.
  • Best of the Church Press Awards. Put your Organization’s best work forward in the ACP awards, which opens December 1 and closes February 15th annually.
  • Award Celebration. Best of the Church Press Awards Contest winners are announced through an in-person and a livestream. Preferential member-only pricing.
  • Best Practices Summit. The fall online summit brings members together to discuss best practices around selected topics. Preferential member-only pricing.
  • Social Posts. Posts will be placed on our social media platform, highlighting your Organization and any awards received during our ACP annual contest.
  • Website. The Organization Logo will be placed at the bottom of our website homepage.


Full Time Equivalent-Based Dues for Publications

  • 6.1+   FTEs   $750.00
  • 3.1-6.0 FTEs   $500.00
  • 0-3.0   FTEs   $300.00


Independent Journalist Membership
: $150 regular; $50 for student and retired members


Open to freelance writers, bloggers, journalists, designers and photographers, as well as former ACP publication-member staff. This includes religion writers for secular media and church media officers. Students engaged in faith-based communications and retired members are invited to join at a discounted rate.

Affiliate Membership
: $500


Open to non-print-publishing businesses or individuals whose work is related to religious communication, such as think tanks, research organizations, companies and individuals who provide printing, public relations and marketing, fundraising, consulting and Web development.

  • Host a Connecting Christian Media monthly Zoom call
  • ACP Update. The logo will be placed on the bottom of all emails
  • Member Directory. Logo and listing will be located behind a paywall.
  • Preferred Partner/Vendor List. With a recommendation from an ACP member, your listing will be included on a directory in front of a payroll.
  • The ACP Podcast. Be a guest on the new ACP Podcast to share your knowledge on an educational piece and an ad on the podcast.
  • Best of the Church Press Awards. Additional opportunity to put your company logo on a category.
  • Award Celebration. Preferential member-only pricing.
  • Social Posts. Posts will be placed on our social media platform, highlighting your company.
  • Website. Your logo scroll will be placed at the bottom of our website homepage .
    How to join the Associated Church Press or renew your membership:


Fill out your ACP membership form and submit payment.

All dues must be paid in full  to enter the annual ACP “Best of the Church Press” awards competition in early January. Additionally, renewing Publication Members that make use of the U.S. Postal Service are asked to pay a modest contribution to fund ACP’s extensive Postal Advocacy activities that are undertaken on their behalf.
