The Board of Directors of the Associated Church Press is pleased to announce the selection of Gregg Brekke as its new Executive Director. Gregg is an exceptional leader and a longtime member of the ACP, serving two terms on the board and one as president. His work in the field of religious journalism has encompassed many roles, including his current position as editor of Presbyterian News Service in which he will continue.
Previously Gregg was news director and editor for the United Church of Christ. Later, as owner of SixView Studios, Gregg’s clients included the National Council of Churches, the World YWCA, and the World Council of Churches. As a freelance writer, he’s written for Sojourners, Religion News Service, and The Christian Century. As a videographer and producer, his work has appeared on Religion and Ethics Newsweekly and media outlets around the world.
As the new executive director, Gregg will be responsible for ACP’s annual awards competition, our professional development programs, our social media presence, and next year’s conference, which will be held April 18-20, 2018, in Chicago. You will be hearing more about these benefits and events in the coming weeks!
I know you’ll want to join me in welcoming Gregg Brekke to his new role and in thanking our outgoing executive director, Joe Thoma, who has served the membership of the ACP faithfully for many years. Joe promises to continue as a member of the ACP while he pursues new challenges in religious communication!
